ChugNug Festival 2018

ChugNug is a hardcore/heavy metal music festival held by Shawshank Redeemed at Soma, San Diego. It's unique theme of combining two of the band mates passions, music and chicken nuggets, created an amazing day! With some performances from City Of Crooks, Beekeeper, The Model Youth, ASCENSIONS, and Shawshank Redeemed. The event went through some lineup changes but released this statement in reguards to why certain bands were suddenly removed from the festival, "ChugNug is supposed to be a safe environment for everyone to be able to bond and enjoy a day of music, there is no room or tolerance for any inappropriate behavior of any sort. We are aware of the recent accusations towards certain people involved with this show, and the issues at hand have been dealt with appropriately. We would first and foremost like to apologize to anybody involved and to the San Diego hardcore community for having to deal with these complications. If at any point any show attendees feel threatened or worried, please alert an authority and the situation will be dealt with. With that being said, we hope that everyone has a fun and safe time at ChugNug '18. We hope to see everyone there.", (ChugNug event page, Facebook). Despite the circumstances it's always great to see this type of support and sense of community in the hardcore scene.
